Overview

The Historic City of Ayutthaya was the once prosperous metropolis of the Siam Kingdom. It was ruined by the Burmese army in the 18th Century leaving only remains of its glorious day. It became an important archaeological site and was listed as one of UNESCO World Heritage. On this full-day private tour, we will visit the significant landmarks including Bang Pa-In Summer Palace and the gothic-style Buddhist Temple, Wat Niwet Thammaprawat. Discover the stories and tales of the ruins of Ayutthaya at the Historical Park and admire the beautiful prang of Wat Chaiwatthanaram Riverside Temple ruins.

Itinerary

Bang Pa-In Summer Palace or the royal summer residence is our first destination. Initially created in 1632, the royalty used the palace as the summer retreat. We will take a walk in the quiet park, and admire buildings in the complex. Phra Thinang Wehart Chamrun, a Chinese style palace with throne room is the only building open to commoners.

Visit Wat Niwet Thammaprawat. The only European architectural style temple in Thailand is on an island in Chao Phraya river, on the bank opposite Bang Pa-In Palace. To travel to the temple, we have to take the wooden cable car across the river — Marvel at the captivating architectural characteristic of the monastery. Get insight from your guide, the stories and reasons for this place before heading towards the Historical Park of Ayutthaya.

Proceed to the historical park of Ayutthaya. It consists of various ruins and temples of the old city. It was also called Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The UNESCO declared this vast stretch of historical sites in their list of the World Heritage since December 1991.

Visit Ayutthaya most important temple, Wat Phra Si Sanphet. The temple is the same type as the famous Bangkok temple, the royal temple that stands in the palace complex without residence monks. Proceed to the large bell shape stupas with gilded mondop.

Wat Chaiwattaram is located on the bank of Chao Phraya River. It is one of the most visited temples in Ayutthaya with impressive architecture and ancient ruins.
